This project profiles the rumen microbiota of weaned yaks fed a basal diet with or without 0.2% composite probiotics containing Bacillus subtilis, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bacillus licheniformis. Rumen fluid samples collected after a 60 day feeding trial were analyzed by 16S rRNA gene (V3 V4) amplicon sequencing to assess probiotic-associated changes in microbial community structure linked to growth performance and health.
