Mediterranean Environments Wildfire Soil Organic Carbon Stock

In this study, Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) was investigated in the Sa Murtera, Catchment, Andratx, Mallorca, Spain. The intention of this was to explore the impact of wildfire events on the SOC under different climatic scenarios by inputing the data collected into the Century model. To produce SOC data, primary data was collected from farmed and abandoned terraces, then further analysed in the laboratory. This includes: Bulk Density, Infiltration Rates, Line-point Intercept, Loss on Ignition, Particle Size, pH and Vegetation Data. All parameters indicate the current SOC in the catchment and allow us to predict future SOC under different series of development. Secondary data was also extracted using RStudios through the RClimChange package highlighted in the R Script.
