Dataset on collection of optical images of different human cell lines

Research work revolving around human cell lines are known to be difficult to reproduce. This comes about due to a combination of factors such as laboratory evolution of cell lines, batch to batch variation in growth medium, and handling skills of the researcher. It is with this in mind that this work set out to obtain reference optical micrograph images of different human cell lines in common use in biomedical research. Images of low density and high density cultivation of particular cell lines were obtained through an online search on ATCC website, which although not a reference standard, should serve as useful guide for the beginning biomedical engineer or medical science researcher.
