UK small area characteristics 2011

This file includes deprivation and population density measures for the whole of the UK at small area level. The small area geography used comprises Lower Super Output Areas in England & Wales, Datazones in Scotland and Super Output Areas in Northern Ireland. Each country has their own 'official' Indexes of Multiple Deprivation but these are not directly comparable due to year of data releases, dates of variable inputs and the methods used in calculation. There are no UK coverage urban-rural measures. Whilst population density is not strictly an urban-rural measure, it is a good proxy. This file includes deprivation and population density measures which are comparable and applicable across the UK.本数据集涵盖全英国范围内小区域尺度的贫困剥夺程度与人口密度测算指标。本次采用的小区域地理单元包括英格兰与威尔士的下级超级输出区（Lower Super Output Areas）、苏格兰的数据分区（Datazones）以及北爱尔兰的超级输出区（Super Output Areas）。英国各构成区域均拥有各自的“官方”多重贫困剥夺指数（Indexes of Multiple Deprivation），但由于数据发布年份、变量输入时点以及计算方法存在差异，这些指数无法直接进行跨区域比较。目前尚无覆盖全英国的统一城乡划分测算指标。尽管人口密度并非严格意义上的城乡划分指标，但却是优质的代理变量。本数据集所包含的贫困剥夺程度与人口密度指标，具备全英国范围内的可比性与适用性。
