Samples were collected in the field during cruises across the East China Sea. 'PPBR' corresponds to Predator-Prey Biomass Ratio. 'Predator' corresponds to mesozooplankton excluding carnivore species (water column sampled with a net of 330 µm mesh size; 1.6 m mouth diameter). 'Prey' corresponds to nano-microplankton (sampled from 10-m below the detected cola to surface with Niskin bottles). Individual size was obtained with the ZooSCAN for mesozooplankton, and the FlowCAM for nano-microplankton. Size diversity corresponds to the continuous version of the Shannon index. SST and SSS correspond to sea surface temperature and salinity, respectively. Nutrient concentrations are integrated above the mixed layer depth.
