To elucidate the classification and function of microglia subsets in the angiogenic retina, we used single-cell RNA sequencing on isolated retinal microglia. We identified a novel subpopulation of microglia named sMG2, which highly expressed necroptosis-related genes Rip3 and Mlkl. Overall design: Single cell profiling of retinal microglia from normal and oxygen-induced retinopathy mice, using 10X genomic platform.
