VPRS 14987 Purchases Under Various Sections of the Land Acts

This series consists of volumes relating to monies received from the alienation of land under various sections of the Lands Acts. The series was created by the Land Sales Branch in order to assist the accounts division with obtaining accurate figures of the monthly revenue received.Each volume recorded the month of the purchase, the lot number, the area in acres, roods and perches, balance of purchase money and amount paid (in pounds, shillings and pence) and remarks. Purchases covered various licences including settlement, perpetual lease, transfers, grants, agricultural, selection, garden, and others. Each purchase was recorded against the relevant section of the relevant Land Act. These included Section 131 of Land Act 1928, Section 146 of Land Act 1901, Sections 103-170 of Land Act 1898, Section 8 from Land Act 1911, Sections 6-8 of Wonthaggi Land Act, Section 10 of State Electricity Act 1920, Section 45 of the Mines Act 1928 and others.
