Replication Data for: The Two-Pronged Middle Class: The Old Bourgeoisie, New State-Engineered Middle Class and Democratic Development

The dataset contains the replication material for \"The Two-Pronged Middle Class: The Old Bourgeoisie, New State-Engineered Middle Class and Democratic Development\". The project investigates the democratic role of the middle classes. It argues that it in many contexts it is important to distinguish between the autonomous middle class emerging through gradual capitalist development and the state-induced middle class created by the authoritarian regime. The anylsis is conducted using historical and contemporary data from the Russian Federation: sub-national (district-level and oblast-level) data, as well as results of an original survey. The dataset contains both Stata dta and do files and the full text of statistical appendix with numerous robustness checks corroborating the results of the study.本数据集为学术论文《双重中产阶层：旧资产阶级、国家塑造的新型中产阶层与民主发展》提供可复现研究所需的全部材料。该研究聚焦中产阶层的民主政治功能，提出在多数研究语境中，区分经由渐进式资本主义发展自然形成的自主型中产阶层，与威权政权主导催生的国家型中产阶层，具有关键学术意义。本研究依托俄罗斯联邦的历史与当代数据开展分析，数据涵盖次国家级（区级与州级）层面的统计数据，以及一项原创性调研的最终结果。本数据集同时包含Stata .dta数据文件与.do命令文件，以及完整的统计附录全文，附录中收录了多项用于佐证研究结论的稳健性检验内容。
