This is the updated tephra fall distribution map dataset for evaluating probabilistic evaluation of tephra fall hazards in Japan. This database was created using the database of Suto et al. (2007) (https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/bullgsj/58/9-10/58_261/_article/-char/ja/) with ArcGIS. The exact method will be published in the Journal of Applied Volcanology (Uesawa et al., 2022; appliedvolc.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13617-022-00126-x). To create hazard curves, use the scripts at https://github.com/s-uesawa/Prototype-TephraDB-Japan. <strong>Caution!</strong> Errors were found in this version. Please use ver1.2.
