Data for "Sexual dimorphism, allometry, and flight performance in Prionoplus reticularis"; Birrell, Walker & Holwell
收藏资源简介:
Raw and processed data accompanying Birrell, Walker & Holwell, "Sexual dimorphism, allometry, and flight performance in the scramble competitor Prionoplus reticularis White (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)", submitted to Evolutionary Ecology. The dataset supports the sexual dimorphism, allometry, and flight-performance analyses reported in the paper, and is intended to be run with the accompanying analysis code [link to the GitHub/Zenodo code release]. Beetles were collected at Riverhead Forest, Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, between November 2021 and February 2022. Flight activity was recorded on custom Arduino-based flight mills; morphological traits were measured in ImageJ. Archive structure data/raw/ — raw flight-mill output and trial metadata csvFiles/ — 16 raw flight-mill log files, one per trial night (named by start date, YYYYMMDD.csv). Each row is a single Hall-effect sensor trigger, with no header: column 1 = mill ID (1–6), column 2 = Unix timestamp (seconds since 1970-01-01 UTC, from the Arduino clock), column 3 = datetime YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS (from the real-time-clock module). Full format notes in README.txt. huhuFlightMillMetaData.csv — per-individual trial metadata: file name, start date/time, mill ID, individual ID, start and finish mass (g), status, and sex. README.txt — description of the raw flight-mill file format. data/allometry/ — morphometric data measurements.csv —r-individual trait measurements (mm): elytron, wing, scape, pedicel, flagellomeres 1–9, total antenna, femur, tibia, total body length, pronotum width, and ninth-flagellomere sensillum count, with individual ID, sex, source image, and notes. wing_dimensions.csv — wing length and wing area (mm/mm²) per individual. repeatabilityLong.csv — repeated trait measurements (three measurements of 20 individuals) used to estimate measurement repeatability. Units and conventionsMorphometric lengths/widths in measurements.csv are in cm (converted to mm in analysis), wing dimensions in mm/mm². Flight-mill masses are in grams (converted to mg in analysis). Sex is coded m/f. Missing values are empty fields. Reproducing the analysesThese files are read directly by the R scripts in the accompanying code release; place this data/ directory at the repository root and run the scripts in numerical order. See the code repository for package requirements and run order. Related identifiersCode: 10.5281/zenodo.20768335.
