We sought to understand the changes in microbial communities in Vamp8KO mice that lack the secretion machinery to release mucin from intestinal goblet cells. We collected fecal samples from Vamp8+/+, Vamp8+/- and Vamp8-/- littermate mice between 8-10 weeks of age and processed for rDNA sequencing using the V3 region.
