ORG.one project-Humboldtia bourdillonii, Conservation of an Endangered Tree Species Endemic to India's Western Ghats Biodiversity Hotspot

Humboldtia bourdillonii prain is an IUCN endangered species (IUCN, 1998) endemic to the Southern Western Ghats, India. It is locally known as 'Adimundan' and comes under the family Leguminosae and subfamily Caesalpinioideae. This short-distance gene flow has affected the genetic diversity of this species. Conversion of forest areas into plantations, recent abnormal monsoon flooding in Kerala, tourism development, and human activities have also negatively affected this species (Jose, 2023).
