Etymological Analysis of the Root Element "Bul/Bulʹ" in Russian and Foreign Lexicon // Этимологический анализ корневого элемента «бул/буль» в русской и иноязычной лексике

This article provides an etymological and phonosemantic analysis of the root element "bul*/bulʹ*" in Russian and several foreign lexical units. The study identifies a unified generalizing semantic core associated with the image of a <b>"bubble," "roundness," or "volume,"</b> tracing its evolution and adaptation across various languages. Particular attention is paid to the potential influence of Old Russian and Old Slavonic writing on the variability of the root element's spelling. Examples of words demonstrating common origin and semantic load are provided, and dialectal and vernacular forms confirming the original meaning are examined. The findings expand our understanding of linguistic interconnections and the historical development of vocabulary.
