<b>Genomic </b><b>characterization DENV [70]</b>

This study investigates the serotypic dynamics and genomic diversity of dengue virus (DENV) in the high jungle region of northern Peru between 2020 and 2023. Through molecular detection and whole-genome sequencing of 1,466 DENV-positive samples, we identified co-circulation of DENV-1, DENV-2, and DENV-3, with DENV-2 being predominant. Phylogenetic analysis revealed the presence of DENV-1 genotype V and the emergence of a new South American variant, as well as the identification of a locally evolved DENV-2 Cosmopolitan genotype C5 sub-lineage. These findings highlight the importance of genomic surveillance in understanding local viral evolution and informing public health strategies.
