Among the great names in literature, including in particular Peguy, Rolland, to answer the question: what is a great man? Is someone who has been erected a bronze statue, on top of spirited horse, like Joan of Arc? Is someone who lies in the Pantheon? As to Peguy, he doesn’t trust of "big men". So, generally, popularity and glory aren’t guarantors of honesty. But, in this perspective, the great man is the source of a reversed ethic: an ethics of resistance - against the cult of power, against the dazzling honors. But to become a great woman, however, women to had to endure, throughout the history. Stand against the great men or to their side, that’s, eventually, the same thing. On the side of women, the greatness embrace well with goodness; the latter concludes, however, to defer them in the shadow, as show following analysis. One thing is certain: the meaning of the adjective 'great' is not the same when it is used as masculine or feminine.
