This dataset provides the complete mesoscale eddy catalog for the Gulf of California (2010–2024), generated using a hybrid detection and tracking algorithm developed during the PhD research of Yuritzy Perez-Corona (CICESE). The detection method combines: (i) the closed-contour approach of Chelton et al. (2011), (ii) the velocity geometry criterion of Nencioli et al. (2010), and (iii) the normalized Okubo–Weiss parameter (Okubo, 1970; Weiss, 1991). Detrended daily Sea Surface Height Anomaly (SSHA) fields from the NeurOST product (PO.DAAC, 0.1°) were processed to identify and track both cyclonic and anticyclonic eddies. The resulting catalog includes eddy centroid positions, polarity, diameters, major/minor axes, eccentricity, vorticity, geostrophic velocity components, Okubo–Weiss values, and amplitude relative to the surrounding field. Temporal tracking was performed with a cost-based inertial algorithm linking detections into coherent trajectories, allowing up to 10-day gaps.
