A comparison of the grade of lightening between two agents, Whiteness Hp Maxx and Lase Peroxide Sensy, in patients attending the Dr. René Puig Bentz Dental Clinic at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña.

Today, one of the characteristics of the ideal beauty stereotype for both men and women
is to have a “white” and bright smile, which is not easy to achieve
naturally, since the natural color of teeth is yellowish or opaque.
However, it has been possible to reduce the shade of tooth enamel through
simple, quick, and safe dental procedures.
This research was observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The sample was
selected for convenience, including 50 patients divided into two equal groups of
25 people, aged between 18 and 45 years. For data analysis, a database was
created in Microsoft Excel, from which the information was processed and presented in
graphs and statistical tables.
The results showed that both agents were effective, with grade 2 whitening predominating.
However, Lase Peroxide Sensy showed a slight advantage, with 20% of patients achieving grade 3,
compared to 16% of the group treated with Whiteness Hp Maxx. In
terms of tooth shades, shade A2 was the most common before treatment, while shade
A1 predominated after treatment, especially with Lase Peroxide Sensy (76%). The
age with the best results was 22 years, and females showed greater effectiveness (48%)
than males (24%). Sixty percent exposed eight teeth per arch, the criterion used to
define the number of teeth to be whitened. In terms of satisfaction, Lase Peroxide Sensy also stood out,
with 84% of patients completely satisfied vs. 72% for Whiteness Hp Maxx. It is concluded that
both agents are effective, but Lase Peroxide Sensy shows a slight superiority in
aesthetic results and patient satisfaction.
According to the results of this study, the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted, as it
confirms that the Lase Peroxide Sensy whitening agent offers a higher degree of whitening
than Whiteness Hp Maxx.
