Introduction of bacterial communities in gills of alien redclaw crayfish collected from Thai freshwater

Redclaw crayfish or Australian red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) has been known as a famous aquaculture and ornamental crayfish, native to freshwater of northern Australia. This crayfish is introduced to many countries including Thailand. Moreover, it is also known to harbor and carries ecto- or endosymbionts into new ecological habitat. However, few studies exist the reports of symbionts associated with redclaw crayfish from freshwater environments of Thailand. Therefore, here we aimed to investigate bacterial microbiota in gills of alien Australian redclaw crayfish collected from freshwater of Thailand.
