Electrocardiogram changes during initial incremental shuttle walk tests (ISWT) in adults patients commencing cardiac rehabilitation in a single UK centre: a retrospective case note review.

The incremental shuttle walk test is a submaximal exercise test used as an assessment of functional capacity in patients prior to cardiac rehabilitation. The safety of the test has not been extensively explored. Simultaneous electrocardiogram measurements during this test would provide important information on both the safety of the test, and adequacy of subsequent cardiac risk stratification. However, it is rarely undertaken in clinical practice. The aim of the study was to investigate the safety of the incremental shuttle walk test by exploring the incidence of electrocardiogram changes during the test, and to report on the possible impact of these findings on cardiac risk stratification.增量穿梭步行试验（Incremental Shuttle Walk Test）是一类亚极量运动试验，主要用于心脏康复前对患者的功能储备能力进行评估。目前该试验的安全性尚未得到广泛探究。若在试验过程中同步开展心电图（Electrocardiogram）检测，可为试验自身的安全性，以及后续心脏风险分层的合理性提供关键参考信息，但此类同步检测在临床实践中鲜有开展。本研究旨在通过分析该试验过程中心电图变化的发生率，探究增量穿梭步行试验的安全性，并报告上述发现对心脏风险分层可能产生的影响。
