DOGVA 1.0: Cropped military rank insignia corpus for five NATO member states

DOGVA 1.0 is a corpus of cropped military rank insignia for five NATO member states (USA, Türkiye, Canada, Germany, Greece), covering 54 officer rank classes aligned to NATO OF levels. It accompanies the paper "A Shared Cross-Country Representation for Military Rank Insignia Recognition, and the Limits of Synthetic Training Data" (M. D. Bingöl and V. V. Nabiyev).The archive contains 492 of the 576 cropped insignia images used in the paper (438 generated with a text-to-image model and 54 Wikimedia Commons reference drawings), per-image provenance labels, the leak-free five-fold partition, the augmentation audit, YOLO annotations for the 73-image full-uniform detection corpus, and the real-photograph evaluation sets. Images that cannot be redistributed or whose licence could not be established are listed by filename and described in README.md.Generated images, annotations, splits and CSV files are released under CC BY 4.0. Third-party images keep their original licences, listed in SOURCES.csv.The dataset is split into six zip files (metadata and detection corpus, plus one file per country for the cropped corpus); extract all of them into the same folder.
