Evidence matrix, screening records and figure scripts for: Salinity stress in buckwheat (Fagopyrum spp.): physiological responses and mitigation practices

This dataset supports a narrative review on the effects of salinity on common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) and Tartary buckwheat (F. tataricum) and on practices that improve their salt tolerance. It contains: (1) the evidence matrix (Table S1), which records for each of the 75 included studies, all verified in full text, the species, cultivars, experimental system, salt treatment, replication, statistical analysis, research questions informed, verified findings with their location in the source, main limitation and language, together with verification notes, a line-by-line list of corrections made to the originally submitted text, and the studies counted as agreeing, partly agreeing or contrary for each finding in Table 1 of the review; (2) the search and screening records for Consensus, Scopus, Web of Science and CNKI, with the title, decision and reason for every record; and (3) the MATLAB script used to draw Figures 3–5 from values reported in the original studies. All data were derived from published studies, which are cited in the files.
