Air measuring stations Wuppertal (passive collector)

The data set of the Wuppertal air measuring stations (passive collector) contains the location information for the (as of 05/2021) 50 measuring stations in the Wuppertal city area, which provide temporal averages for the nitrogen dioxide concentration since 2006. The site coordinates were digitised with an accuracy of 1 meter based on aerial images (Orthophotos). The passive collectors are tubes suspended in protective housings, filled with adsorber material, in which the nitrogen dioxide accumulates by natural diffusion over an exposure period of four weeks. The measured values determined by laboratory analysis (monthly values, annual mean values) are published in separate files. They can be linked to the location data via the station number in the MESSPUNKT attribute. The location information also includes the indication of the nearest address (Attribute STR_NAME and Hausnr), possibly with relative additional information such as “against” (attribute ZUSATZINFO), as well as the time interval in which the respective station was operated (atribute DATUM_VON and DATUM_BIS). The dataset comprises both the currently operating 30 stations (as of 05/2021) and the (status 05/2021) 20 stations whose operation has been discontinued in the meantime. The attribute DATUM_BIS is only occupied by the latter. The dataset is available in Shape, KML and GeoJSON format under an Open Data License (CC BY 4.0).
