Outward FDI, Absorptive Research Capacity and Domestic Technological Innovation: Implications for National and Regional Policy

We utilize a panel of 31 Chinese provinces covering the time period 2006 to 2019, including all the above variables, sourced principally from the China Statistical Yearbook with additional secondary data from the OECD others as we describe in Table 1. We add in the controls such as employment, government investment, output, and infrastructure. We normalize all prices to 2006 international US dollars. Prior to 2006 the data for some provinces, such as Xinjiang and Tibet, is somewhat limited and so is not included.本研究采用2006至2019年中国31个省份的面板数据，涵盖前述全部变量。数据主要源自《中国统计年鉴》，其余补充二手数据取自经合组织（OECD）相关数据源，具体说明详见表1。本研究纳入就业、政府投资、产出及基础设施等控制变量，并将所有价格指标统一标准化为2006年国际美元计价水平。2006年以前，新疆、西藏等部分省份的数据存在一定局限性，故未纳入本次研究样本。
