Hepatitis B serological profiles and vaccine uptake among HBsAg-negative adults at risk for infection in Zambia

In 3 group of adults in Zambia (health workers, contacts to people with chronic HBV infection, and people with HIV) who are recommended for HBV vaccination due to their increased risk, we undertook serological profiling with the core and surface antibodies after they tested surface antigen-negative. Then we offered vaccine (3-dose series). These data capture the serological status and the dates of vaccine uptake. There were 18 people with isolated core antibodies and we rechecked their surface antibody levels after the first dose of vaccine. A manuscript led by Enock Syabbalo is forthcoming.
