UK Bird Reporting Seasonality

Seasonality information for over 400 species in the UK, based on BirdTrack data for the period 2011–2022, as presented in BTO BirdFacts Species https://www.bto.org/learn/about-birds/birdfacts. These data can be used to assess the times of year when bird species are recorded in the UK. Note that the reporting rate metric is influenced by the availability of birds to be detected (whether they are present or not) but also their detectability. For example, detectability can decrease when birds stop singing, which can lead to a reduction in reporting; this cannot be taken to indicate that the species has reduced in abundance or departed the UK.
