The goal of this study is to examine the potential influence of growth hormone(GH) on the gut microbiome over time. The bovine growth hormone transgenic (bGH)mice resemble a clinical condition of chronic overexpression of GH calledacromegaly, which results in visceromegaly and various co-morbidities such asinsulin resistance/type 2 diabetes, heart disease, colon cancer and acceleratedaging. Fecal microbiota was assessed in control and bGH mice at different ages.
