The dataset encompasses all data captured by the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) 6-antenna prototype system to date. This is primarily "visibilities" that are used by the ASKAP commissioning team. The data is used by the ASKAP commissioning team (engineers and scientists) to perform testing and validation of the ASKAP telescope. This includes performance testing of the ASKAP Phased Array Feeds (PAF) receiver technology, radio-frequency interference (RFI) survey of the ASKAP/SKA site, and imaging of the radio sky, etc.
