Atypical strain of Rhizobium (Agrobacterium) sp. was isolated from raspberry plants showing crown gall disease symptoms. Based on phylogenetic analysis, this strain formed separate phylogenetic lineage, different from all known genomic species of A. tumefaciens species complex. Therefore, atypical strain may represent a novel species within Rhizobium (Agrobacterium) genus. In order to confirm this, genome sequences may give valuable information.
