Case study of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) in a residence

The goal of this study was to document the types and persistence of distinct strains of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) recovered from a residence in an NTM hotspot over a period of twelve years. During the study period, the homeowner developed NTM pulmonary disease, whose genetic profile matched with samples recovered from the residence at earlier points in the study.
