资源简介:

This web map illustrates the Hispanic Distribution of Florida by county. The map is symbolized to display each county's diversity index score. The U.S. Census Bureau uses the Diversity Index (DI) to measure the likelihood that two randomly selected individuals from a population will belong to different racial or ethnic groups. The index ranges from 0 to 100, where a score of 0 indicates no diversity (everyone belongs to the same group), and a score of 100 indicates complete diversity (the population is perfectly evenly distributed across all racial and ethnic groups). A higher score means a higher probability that two randomly selected people would be from different racial or ethnic backgrounds, indicating greater diversity within the population. In this publication, the DI measures diversity among the Hispanic population and the likelihood that two randomly selected Hispanic individuals will belong to different Hispanic Origin Groups. This web map is embedded in the Florida Diversity Index by County Dashboard. Data Source: American Community Survey, Table B03001 Data Vintage: 2023 (5-year estimates)
