资源简介:
This dataset includes stable isotope data (δ¹³C, δ¹⁸O) for the planktic foraminifer Acarinina soldadoensis collected from IODP Site 392-U1580, which is located at 40°47.15'S, 26°36.41'E, and is 2560 meters deep in water. Analyses were done at the Department of Geoscience, Utah State University, on 20-30 specimens from each sample that were sized between 250-300 μm, using a standard method called IRMS with GasBench II, at a 2 cm detail level during the PETM period (60-64 m CCSF-M). Values are reported relative to the VPDB standard with analytical precision of ±0.1‰. The data show the full change in carbon isotopes during the PETM, indicating a drop of -2.5‰ in δ¹³C from the pre-PETM levels of +2.5 to +3.5‰ to PETM levels of -0.5 to -2.0‰. Oxygen isotopes show a corresponding negative shift, indicating warming. This high-resolution record provides constraints on the timing and magnitude of environmental change during the PETM at this Southern Ocean location. Values are reported in per mil relative to the VPDB standard.
