资源简介:

The dataset consists of quantitative and qualitative data collected through an online survey administered to adults residing in the United States. The survey includes measures of support for 36 tobacco Endgame policies grouped into six categories: Direct Sales Restrictions, Retailer Location and Density Policies, Product Placement and Packaging Policies, Pricing and Nicotine Level Policies, Smokefree and Multiunit Housing Policies, and Eliminating Penalties for Underage Use. Each item used a six-point scale ranging from strong opposition to strong support. Composite scores for each category were calculated by averaging the items within that category. These processed composite variables are included in the dataset for ease of analysis. Demographic variables include age, sex, race and ethnicity, household income, educational level, employment status, and rural or urban residence. Behavioral variables record smoking frequency, e-cigarette use frequency, and overall tobacco use. Political affiliation is self-reported. The dataset also contains responses to a question about whether regulation of tobacco products should occur at the local, state, or federal level. Open-ended responses explaining participants’ preferred level of government are included as a qualitative dataset. These responses were analyzed using thematic analysis; however, the raw text data are preserved and available for re-analysis. No identifying information is included. Data were collected using an online survey platform (Qualtrics). Quality checks incorporated attention check items, minimum completion time thresholds, and removal of invalid responses. Zip codes were converted to rural or urban classifications using established publicly available geographic coding systems.
