VPRS 11906 General Correspondence

This series consists of general correspondence created or received by the Port of Portland Authority (VA 1427).The items of correspondence that make up this series were located by staff of the Authority when it was abolished and records prepared for transfer to archives. It appears that these papers should have been placed on either of the two major correspondence systems which operated within the Authority between 1950 and 1997. The correspondence series are VPRS 11854 General Correspondence Subject Files and VPRS 11907 General Correspondence Files, Alpha-Numeric System. It is not known why these papers were not placed on files in these series.
