April 2023 Ice Storm in Montreal

This dataset contains meteorological and observational data related to the high-impact ice storm that affected southern Quebec on April 5-6, 2023. The storm produced up to 40 mm of freezing rain and ice pellets, the highest accumulation since the historic 1998 Ice Storm. It caused significant infrastructure damage, particularly in Montreal, where over 800 trees were damaged, leading to power outages lasting several days.

This dataset was created to support a study aimed at understanding the factors that contributed to this unusually large and rapid ice accumulation, including the physical and meteorological processes at different spatial and temporal scales.
