资源简介:
Bacterial quorum sensing (QS) is a chemical communication that allows bacteria to coordinate their population and gene regulation (e.g. development of biofilm, secretion of secondary metabolites) in response to desirable concentrations of QS signals. Here, we studied the effect of QS inhibitor 2(5H)-furanone on the formation of Pseudoaltermonas marina biofilms, and the effect of these biofilms on the settlement of the mussel Mytilus coruscus. 2(5H)-furanone was added during the biofilms formation of P. marina or in the plantigrades settlement bioassay. The adding of 2(5H)-furanone (10-4M) during biofilms formation significantly (p < 0.05) reduced the settlement of M. coruscus plantigrades. In order to understand the differences of underlying molecular mechanisms between the PC group and furanone treated group during biofilm formation, 10-4 M FUR treated BFs were selected for transcriptome sequencing due to lowest settlement.
