In this study we characterized the function of MYB99 in Arabidopsis anthers. We discovered that in regulates key genes in primary and phenylpropanoid metabolism. Ultimately MYB99 regulates an anther specific pathway that is responsible for the production of pollen specific flavonol glycosides.
