资源简介:
Samples from a hearth in Block A at Site 32WE34 in east central North Dakota were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. Site 32WE34 contains conical and linear mounds and areas of relatively rich cultural material scatter. Pollen and macrofloral analyses of the hearth fill are used to provide information concerning plant resources processed in the hearth. A pollen sample from the lower 5cm of the Paleosol in Block C also was examined to identify plants associated with the formation of the Paleosol. Eight lithic tools from the site were analyzed for possible protein residues. Immunological studies have shown that protein residues from a tool's surface can be identified using modified forensic procedures. Protein residue analysis is used to provide information concerning faunal resources.
