Two datasets supporting the publication, "Glacier shrinkage will accelerate downstream decomposition of organic matter and alters microbiome structure and function" in Global Change Biology. <strong>DATA S1 </strong>Detailed metadata for sampled glacier-fed streams, including sample date and time, GPS coordinates, elevation, physical streamwater measurements, glacier characteristics, nutrient chemistry, and a column indicating samples used in metagenomics analyses. <strong>DATA S2 </strong>Full patch-level dataset of extracellular enzyme activities (nmol h<sup>-1</sup> g<sup>-1</sup> DM sediment) and chlorophyll <em>a </em>(µg chlorophyll <em>a</em> g<sup>-1</sup> DM).
