"Thick-slice CT remains widely used in clinical practice due to practical constraints such as storage cost and radiation dose. However, its limited through-plane resolution and blurring caused by partial volume effects may obscure fine anatomical details and affect diagnostic accuracy. Medical slice synthesis (MSS) for CT is designed to generate thin-slice CT from thick-slice inputs to improve through-plane resolution when high-resolution acquisition is desired but unavailable. Progress in CT slice synthesis (CSS) has been hindered by the lack of large-scale real-paired datasets reconstructed from identical raw acquisitions. Most existing studies rely on pseudo-paired data generated through artificial degradation, which may introduce domain discrepancies and bias performance comparisons across methods. MSS-CT is a large-scale chest CT dataset comprising 2000 subjects reconstructed from identical raw acquisitions and supporting two synthesis ratios (3mm to 1mm, 5mm to 1mm). "
