This research investigates energy loss mechanisms in amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials, which are essential for the performance of transformers and motors. Despite advancements in improving magnetic properties such as permeability and coercivity, the impact of magnetostriction and structural correlation length on energy loss in alternating current environments remains insufficiently understood. This study explores the influence of microstructure and magnetostriction on energy loss, analyzing a range of iron-based amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys. The findings provide compelling evidence and novel insights for reducing energy loss, making a significant contribution to the development of next-generation energy-efficient soft magnetic materials.
