ArCOV19-Rumors is an Arabic COVID-19 Twitter dataset developed by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Qatar University, targeted at misinformation detection. It contains 138 verified claims and 9.4K related tweets collected between January 27 and the end of April 2020, covering diverse domains including health, society, politics, sports, entertainment, and religion. The dataset supports both claim-level and tweet-level verification tasks through manual annotation of tweet veracity. Its construction process involved extracting verified claims from mainstream fact-checking websites, and manually developing and optimizing search queries to retrieve relevant tweets. The primary application of this dataset is misinformation detection on social media, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the objective of curbing the spread of misinformation.
