资源简介:
Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a common pregnancy complication often caused by poor placental function, resulting in a fetus that fails to reach its full growth potential. FGR increases the risk of cardiovascular problems at birth, which is a critical time when the infant must adapt quickly to life outside the womb. During this critical time, FGR infants are also more vulnerable to additional stressors, such as birth asphyxia. This thesis explores the cardiovascular consequences of FGR during gestation and during the period surrounding birth. Understanding these vulnerabilities may help improve the care and outcomes of FGR infants.
