Captive breeding of the critically endangered Western Ground Parrot

State of the art CCTV equipment will support success of the breeding program for the critically endangered western ground parrot. The CCTV equipment would build on previous donations by the Friend of the Western Ground Parrot group and improve the ability of Zoo staff to unlock the mysteries of western Ground parrot breeding. If key behaviours or conditions that lead to positive breeding outcomes can be captured, these could then be replicated and captive breeding improved. This could also provide vital information and impetus for an expansion in the future.
