Atmospheric inputs from mineral and anthropogenic sources are nowadays increasing globally due to desertification in one hand and industrialization on the other. In this context, it is important to understand how atmospheric particles can favor the growth of certain bacterioplankton groups of the ocean over others, as these changes will affect the ratio between primary and heterotrophic production, and consequently the concentration of atmospheric carbon that can be fixed (or released) in the surface layer of the ocean. As aerosol composition varies seasonally and locally, we evaluated the effect of both types of atmospheric particles on different locations of the northwestern Mediterranean and at different times of the year.

当前,受荒漠化与工业化双重驱动,全球范围内来自矿物源与人为源的大气输入正持续攀升。在此背景下,厘清大气颗粒物如何相较于其他类群,更易促进海洋中特定浮游细菌类群的增殖,具备重要科研价值——此类变化会改变初级生产与异养生产的比值,进而影响海洋表层可固定(或释放)的大气碳浓度。鉴于气溶胶组成具有季节与空间异质性,本研究评估了这两类大气颗粒物对地中海西北部不同海域及一年中不同时段的影响。
