This dataset contains the current geographical situation of the locks and spectacles within the management area of Hunze and Aa’s Water Board. The spectacles in this dataset have not yet been established. For the current established spectator see “Fixed fireplace locks page”. A ditch is a watercourse (Please: says surface water system) in places where rainwater flows, so that it can be drained together to avoid water nuisance. A ditch is part of the water-based infrastructure. The water drained via locks is pumped away elsewhere. It is important that the flow of the water is unobstructed. For this purpose, fireplace locks are checked at the fireplace. Other locks are not seen. The locks are digitised to the drain direction.
