Heat Map 2019 – Planned heat networks (points)

The ‘Flanders heat map 2019’ was prepared on behalf of the Flemish Energy and Climate Agency to implement the EU Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency and the Renewable Energy Directive (EU) 2018/2001. The main products are maps for 2019 for the territory of Flanders showing the heat demand of the large and small consumers, results at the level of municipalities and the statistical sectors, maps of existing and planned heat networks and finally locations of potential heat supply points. The study was carried out by VITO in cooperation with the distribution system operator Fluvius. The related report can be consulted here: https://www.energiesparen.be/warmtekaart. For the year 2019, in addition to the existing heat networks, 36 sites could be identified where there are plans to explain or expand a heat network. For these planned networks, the map layer also contains information on: name of the project, owner, postal code, municipality and whether or not a subsidy has been requested under the call green heat/waste heat.
