To identify microRNAs (miRNAs) with a key role in the molecular mechanisms controlling human neurogenesis, we performed deep sequencing of small and long RNA transcripts at distinct stages of directed neuronal differentiation of human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells. Overall design: We have performed RNA Sequencing (RNA-Seq) and small RNA-Seq in skin fibroblasts, iPSCs, neural progenitor cells (NPCs) and neurons PD and control samples (two clones from each individual), along with HUES 6, HUES 6-derived NPCs and HUES-derived neurons. The two library preparations (RNA-Seq and small RNA-Seq) were performed using the same initial samples.
