Four men dressed in helmets, tunics and sandals, in the manner of what appears to the Greek god Mercury, attend the horse-drawn float. The cart which they pull appears to have a large bush on it, as well as a nautical anchor made from flowers. The side reads "Organized Labor" before dropping down to the cloth skirt that hides the wheels. A fifth man sits at the helm of the float, manning the reigns. He wears a more lavish helmet than his fellow laborers and checked pants. A sign and an American flag are partially visible in the left background, as a clapboard-sided house is to the right, behind a line of trees. Streetcar rails can be seen in the foreground of the unpaved street.
