With the increasing development of the manganese electrolysis industry, the tailwater discharged from it is often accompanied by high concentra-tions of Mn2+ and nitrogen, which will cause irreversible damage to the water ecosystem as well as to human health if not treated properly. At present, there are few reports at domestic and abroad on the simultaneous removal of excess Mn2+ and nitrogen from electrolytic manganese tailwa-ter. Therefore, this study took the tailwater of a manganese electrolysis plant in Sichuan as the research object, constructed an integrated bioreac-tor for manganese and nitrogen removal with manganese-oxidizing mi-croalgae for biofortification
