Pretreatment of aged mice with retinoic acid restores alveolar regeneration via upregulation of reciprocal PDGFRA signaling

Reciprocal PDGFA signaling activates regenerative fibroblasts that support alveolar epithelial cell differentiation and repair, providing a potential therapeutic strategy to influence the pathogenesis of IPF. Overall design: PNX of mice, with or without RA pretreatment, followed by RNA Sequencing of the Epithelial (Epcam+) or Fibroblast (Pdgfra+) lung cells was used to study lung repair and regeneration. Pdgfra+ Lung Cells from inidividuals with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
